I’ve finally reached the last two novels in Tana French’s series about the fictional Dublin Murder Squad. Unfortunately, my discussion of them is going to be a few days late. A week ago, I had laser treatment on both my retinas for diabetic retinopathy. I’ve had it before on at least three occasions, going back 15 years. This time, it wasn’t painful at all, my vision adjusted immediately and I was fine afterwards. However …
I find that since the laser treatment I’m reading more slowly and getting tired quicker than I had been before, so I left myself less time than I needed to reread these novels. I finished the second of them yesterday evening but I think I need to let them settle in my mind for a day or two before trying to expound on them.
So, I’ll be sending out the newsletter at the weekend (Saturday or Sunday) instead of today. Sorry about the few days’ delay. If you’d like to remind yourself in the meantime of what I’ve said about previous books in French’s series, here are the relevant links:
Book 1: In the Woods
Book 2: The Likeness
Books 3 and 4: Faithful Place and Broken Harbour
